Botanis Labs has the highest nano-hydroxyapatite I've seen: 15%. MIT research has shown that meaningful enamel rebuilding requires at least 10% hydroxyapatite. Most toothpaste brands dilute it down to 1–3%, which is too low to create real structural repair.

🥈 RISEWELL

RiseWell uses a “micro”-hydroxyapatite. However, studies show only “nano”-hydroxyapatite can rebuild enamel. It performed better than standard fluoride pastes, but no evidence proves that this form can produce real results.

Davids won't reveal their hydroxyapatite concentration. The concentration likely sits at the lower end of what's needed for meaningful enamel repair.

Boka won't reveal their concentration either. Third party testing shows it sits between 1–3%. It may be sufficient for general use, but it lacks the potency needed to rebuild.

Root decay and sensitivity become major issues once gums recede. 15% nano-hydroxyapatite in a powder format is capable of regrowing Dentin: The shield on top of your roots. This helps reduce sensitivity and creates a protective layer that stops gum recession.

Because it's a dry powder instead of a paste, there's nothing diluting the active ingredients. Pastes use glycerin which create a hydrophobic layer around the teeth preventing mineral absorption. The powder is much more reliable as it binds directly to the roots without anything in its way.

You wet your brush, dip it, brush, spit, and leave it on overnight. This gives the hydroxyapatite maximum contact time to physically bind to demineralized areas and rebuild enamel from the inside out.

🥈 RISEWELL

RiseWell can provide moderate sensitivity relief thanks to its sufficient hydroxyapatite content. However, the paste delivery system didn't offer the same level of root repair nor did it provide long-term protection against my ongoing recession.

❌ DAVIDS

Davids focuses more on cleaning and general maintenance. It does not have the concentration or targeted delivery needed to meaningfully repair or protect exposed roots once recession has started.

❌ BOKA

Boka offered some mild sensitivity relief, but it lacked the concentration required to repair damaged root surfaces or help prevent further recession.
